        A Sanctuary is a unique Bed and Breakfast located in a lovely country setting
just 15 minutes north of Spokane. Situated  on eleven private wooded acres this exceptional
retreat offers relaxation, romance, and renewal. From I-90 it is a quick escape to
a little taste of paradise in the heart of the Ponderosa Pine Country.
 
 
 
 
When you arrive at  A Sanctuary you will be at 2,000 feet above sea level, which provides you
 with a spectacular view from high above the rolling wheat fields.  This amazing vista, coupled with
the quiet forest rising up behind, will usher you into a serene vacation mindset. Breathe in the fresh
 air and begin to unwind from the cares of the world.  This one of-a-kind retreat is perfect for tourists,
visiting professionals, families visiting  a college campus, or a romantic getaway for locals.

As you cross the threshold of our front door you will enter an
enchanting time away from the rush of daily routine. Our living room is decorated in soothing hues of  blue, lavendar, and dark chocolate. There is noteworthy art, comfortable furniture, and
the sound of music ushers you into the relaxed atmosphere. 
     
 
 
We serve breakfasts that are wholesome and delicious! These
can be enjoyed by everyone including vegetarians. The menu includes fresh seasonal fruit from our local organic orchards,
Bob's Red Mill Organic Irish steel cut oats, Starbuck's Coffee,
a wide variety of herbal and English Breakfast Teas, luscious muffins & bagels, yogurt, and much more all prepared by
Chef Joey.  We are operating in a GREEN manner, and do
as much as possible to conserve, recycle, and use natural products.

A Sanctuary is open from yearround with the exception of April 1st through the 10th from Tuesday through Sunday.  We are knowledgeable hosts so we will serve you like you have your own concierge by letting you know the best places to explore, tours to take, and places to eat and enjoy.
 
On-site massages are available by appointment.

On the upper floor is where you will spend your restful and rejuvenating night in plush queen size beds.  Your sleeping chambers are pleasing, comfortable, and well-appointed. 
 
The first bedroom is furnished in the golden and amber 
European style. This bedroom has its own private bathroom.
 
 
The second  bedroom is tranquil and bejeweled in a modern fashion dressed in light blue and chocolate brown;   step through a stylish arch into a stunning bathroom.  This eye-catching private suite also offers a built in desk provided with access to WIFI. 
 
Access to satellite television, stereo, fax, copier, free phone,
and wireless broadband are available upon request. 
 
Also available to you is a media room on the second floor.  It is reminesent of the orient in the artistic design and art.  There is
a 60"television, and over 300 movies in myriad genres from
which to choose.
 
 
Take in the panoramic views from the private deck. They are spectacular.  There are hawks and eagles; deer and even our frequent visitor Bullwinkle the Moose!  We have a plethora of bird feeders and houses and the feathered beauties gather all day...finches, grackle, mourning doves, red-winged blackbirds, bluejays, chickadees, meadowlarks, quail, downy woodpeckers, and hummingbirds.  
 
In the evening the deck is also a great place to view stellar skies. The nights are great to stargaze! 
 
  
 
  
 
 

 

 

 

  

Our property is a great place to enjoy the snowfall.  You can

curl up by the fire with a book and watch it snow,  get out

and go sledding on our fast slopes or take in the tranquil forest.

 

 At Mount Spokane, only 20 minutes away, you can participate

in Snow...skiing, boarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling,

cross-country...just lots of icy cold, refreshing, exciting adventures. 

 

Other ski slopes are in easy driving distance.  

 

Downtown Spokane is only 15 minutes away with

shopping, theater, resturants, and gondola rides

over the beautiful Spokane Falls.

The year round activities in our area are varied and

plentiful. You'll have countless prospects for exploring

and shopping from which to select only minutes away. 

We are located at the gateway to Green Bluff

 and Mount Spokane State Park.  Mountain sports

include seasonal activities such as: hiking, biking,

hunting, horseback riding, backpacking, sledding,

skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. 

The landscapes are ever-changing their colors so bring

your camera!
