| A Sanctuary is a unique Bed and Breakfast located in a lovely country setting just 15 minutes north of Spokane. We are at the Gateway to the Green Bluff Growers area. Situated on eleven private, wooded, acres this exceptional retreat offers relaxation, romance, and renewal. From I-90 it is a quick escape to your little taste of paradise in the heart of the Ponderosa Pine Country.
When you arrive at A Sanctuary you will be at 2,000 feet above sea level, which provides you with a spectacular view from high above the rolling wheat fields. This amazing vista, coupled with the quiet forest rising up behind, will usher you into a serene vacation mindset. Breathe in the fresh air and begin to unwind from the cares of the world. This one-of-a-kind retreat is perfect for. . . tourists exploring the Green Bluff area, as a romantic escape, for families visiting students at Whitworth, Gonzaga, or other local campuses, for your out-of-town guests, or as a gift to someone special for any occasion. Not only are the views great from our B&B, but there are many activities to enjoy right her on the property. We have a basketball court, a huge fire pit, and a large grassy area for playing croquet and bocci ball. We are available for large outdoor gatherings such as reunions, birthdays, or any other kind of party.
A Sanctuary is open year-round. We are knowledgeable hosts so we can act as your own concierge if you would like suggestions concerning: areas to explore, tours to take and places to eat and enjoy. Upon request, a photo session to record your stay. Wedding, anniversary, engagement, and senior portraits are also available by our resident photograher. | As you cross the threshold of our front door you will enter an enchanting time away from the rush of daily routine. Our living room is decorated in soothing hues of blue, lavender, and dark chocolate. There is noteworthy art, comfortable furniture, and you will be warmly welcomed by your hosts. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * We serve breakfasts that are wholesome and delicious! These can be enjoyed by everyone including vegetarians and diabetics. The menu includes AMAZING fresh seasonal produce from our local Green Bluff Orchards, Bob's Red Mill Organic Irish steel cut oats, luscious waffles, muffins & bagels, yogurt, Starbuck's Coffee, a wide variety of herbal and English Breakfast Teas, and much more all prepared by Chef Joey. We are operating in a GREEN manner, and do as much as possible to conserve, recycle, and use natural products. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Take in the panoramic views from the private deck that is located just outside the door from the media room. The sights are spectacular! Our property houses many different kinds of wildlife. There are hawks and eagles; deer and even our occasional visitor, Bullwinkle the Moose! We have a plethora of bird feeders and houses attracting feathered beauties to gather all day...finches, grackle, mourning doves, blue jays, red-winged blackbirds, chickadees, quail, downy woodpeckers, meadowlarks, and hummingbirds. * * * * * * * * * * * * In the evening the deck is also a great place to stargaze. Since we are miles away from any bright lights the moon and stars can be seen much clearer. It is quiet and very peaceful. * * * * * * * * * * * * Mount Spokane State Park is only 15 miles away providing hundreds of miles for hiking, biking, horseback riding, backpacking, picnicking, camping, and hunting. Just driving through the country side is a restful respite. There are many wide open spaces to explore.

If you are a local or a visitor we welcome you and each of us will be genuinely interested in assisting you in any way possible. | | The upper floor is dedicated completely to guests. This is where you will spend your restful night in plush queen size beds. Your sleeping chambers are cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. Attention to every detail has been made. The European bedroom is furnished in gold and amber, and has its own large private bathroom with duel sinks. 
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The contemporary bedroom is tranquil and bejeweled in light blue and chocolate brown; step through a stylish arch into a stunning bathroom. This eye-catching private suite also offers a built in desk.

Also available to you is media room located on the second floor. It is reminiscentof the orient in the artistic design and art. There is a 60"television, and over 400 movies from which to choose. 
Access to fax, copier, and WIFI are available. Our facility is guarded 24 hours a day by ADT services. We are open Tuesday through Sunday. Check in from 4:00 - 8:00pm Check out time: 11:00 am (Sunday checkout is at 10:00) Rates: $120.00 - $140.00 Rates are based on seasonal changes. Cost includes breakfast. We are located at the gateway to Green Bluff which has over thirty farms, orchards, businesses and wineries to visit. There are many places that accomodate weddings and corporate gatherings as well. Cynthia Paulson is an professional pianist and vocalist and is prepared to write original music for any event you may plan. Her expertise in photography for any event is also available. Ask to view the portfolio for examples of her work. Be sure and check out our page on activities, action, and adventures.
